The Humble Poppy (part4)

December last year (2013) we had decided on doing somethink different, too our humble poppy.

Somethink spiecal to mark the one hundred years, since the start of the First World War. . . 

My mum and I decided to add gold to them.... 

Some of the group of knitters, wasn't sure about if they were taking part nor was sure on adding gold!

So while they were deciding on shall they or shall they not!

A small group of us (me, my mum and three lady's) had already decided that we were doing them...

Once we got Christmas out the way.. The five of us started knitting... It was a slow start to say the lease.

Then about February time my mum and I decided to add gold 100 . Our only trouble was were or how to find them... In the end my Auntie in Canada went to her local craft store I think its Michaels ... She found these....

Us ladys were all doing great.  Then tragedy hit my family... Which most of you will know about by now.   But for those who does not know my Aunt that I have just wrote about died mid August.. Totally out of the blue!!

So as you can all guess for my mum and I, we totally stopped knitting... It wasn't till the start October when the two of us started again...

We are both still knitting to meet demands for poppies! The other lady's did their own design with adding gold...

This is my mums and I poppy....

Second Quarter

What is happening to this year, seem to be flying by so quickly... Which is not so good!  I should right now working on my forth quarter. But instead I am starting to write my third quarter post... Before we will know it be Christmas!!!! 

So here is what I got up to during April, May and June...

April

 

April is the month of one of my aunts birthday.. She also like the others like the Art Deco style...

May

May has a few more birthdays in than April...  

The new home card above I made for my Aunt and Uncle. Who have moved into their new place! 

I have to say this is one of my favourite cards I have done... 

I think it is because I love all things to do dragonflies and butterflies.. I made this card for my cousin in Canada who loves dragonflies too...

 I made this one for a friend I call uncle. He loves gardening and a glass of somethink.

Made for some one I know who loves bunnies!

This one was for a close friend of the family....

June

Not a lot really happen in June, it was full of me work hard and no playing/crafting... I made the cards back in May...

The pretty card above, I made for a friend at work. 

 One of my mums friends, a close family friend. Hadn't been well in June... So I took one of my gold bags and jazzed it up. With an owl and cute flower... Then I filled the bag with sweets e.g.. Milk bottles, dip dap and other treats.

This car theme one I did was for one of my male cousin's in Canada.

The cute cat theme one was made especially for my cousin in Canada! 

Made this for a good friend of the family I call Aunt..

Sorry if my writing seem distant, maybe its me will try hard next time!!

Long Time No See

I know it as been a long time since my last post.

Has you may of guessed by now I have 

been a Busy Bee!

The last few months I have been changing my crafting ways.... Don't worry I have not stopped making cards.  I have just put making cards on hold for the moment.

Tell you the truth I have so many made up. I am trying to get thought them..... 

So my crafting ways have changed?

I have been trying to learn new skills in the world of art and craft!

I am now Art Journalling. I have always been into art and drawing. It was my favourite subject at school.

I will write more about my art journalling journey and show some of the pages.. Not all, as some are just too personal to me!

The other thing is I have learnt how to make books and notebooks. Which I'm enjoying and loving making.

The first one I made was for me to take Brighton! 
Then tragedy hit my family, if you follow my other blogs. Then you will know! So I have not got to Brighton yet!! 

Anyway here is my book thingie...... Not sure what to call them yet!!

Then one day last week I spent eight hours on making this one.. The one above took me a week to make.

I had planned to make one like the above for my Aunt...... Then because what happen I couldn't... So in the end I decided to make the book... Has you all can see I have started to use it. I'm trying to fill the book with inspiring sayings. Has I'm using the book for goals and plans in life..

The next one I will be making this week will be my Christmas theme one... Which I will be using to put my lists of cards and pressys..

Last Day Of June Haul

Today I went into the Range, to get some bits for a couple of cards.  Also to get the loom to try out those band bracelet thingie that are a big thing at the moment here in the United Kingdom.  I believe it is big all over the world.

The Range is where you can get household, outdoors, pets, diy stuff from. Plus they have a craft section...

Only trouble I have with the place is I don't always find what I'm looking for.. Anyhow I got some bits that I will use, I know!

Sad thing was I couldn't get my hands on the band bracelet loom thingie!

First Quarter

I know so far this year I have not wrote much about what I have been upto, with making cards and that...  Its mainly due to work and family life!

So I am planning to update every three months of the year. To show what I have been doing!

Januray

First month of the year Januray is time for most people to wind down after Christmas.. For me it's time to pack away my Christmas crafts, and its time to think about the year ahead! 

January, is also a month of Birthday's. 

I made this cute little cat theme card for a friends little girl... She loves all things to do with animals.. So I knew this was purrfect!

Also in January is my brothers birthday and a friend of his.. So I made two of the card above!

February

In February is my two aunts Birthdays... Odd thing about them two is that they share the same day. But as a few years difference between them. Plus they both love the Art Deco style cards I do...I know these to look alike.  But........ I kind of get away with it (okay now I won't as my aunts read this damn!) as one live in Canada and the other one in England!

March

At the start of March I always some how think its a month of no birthday or anniversarys... Then the second week it hits me, its one of my aunts birthday and a friend of mine...

Has you can tell I made some more of the card above.. This one I sent to one of my others aunts that lives up north!

This cute one above with the teddy bear on was the one I sent to my friend down in Devon!
