January Treats!

Hello Everyone  - Long time no see, I hope you all had a peaceful holiday and so far new year as been kind to you. I also hope you are well and if not I wish you a speedy recovery.

I have been a wee bit naughty and bought a few new bits and yes I even got two boxes of Hunkydory Christmas Boxes. I'm a sucker for all things Christmas, pictures below are of what was in the two boxes.

Towards the end of 2022 I knew I wanted to do a order of some new essentials, I kept looking and adding to my online basket. At times I wasn't sure if I was going to do a order and, then on the 2nd of January 2023 I decided too. I paid for next day delivery, something I rarely do..

Down below is a list of what I ordered and below that again is the pictures.

Has you can see above are the essentials, and below is what I would say is not so essential. But I am planning to do mix media, I also fell in love with a few stamps. Plus I wasn't going to say no to the free gift was I. In the past I've missed out and have regretted so.

I also did a small order with The Works, a few Christmas/ New Year gifts and some must haves. The Christmas/New Year gifts I can not share as well I've not sent them yet.  What I can share is the two 8x8 scrapbooks and air dry clay.
The air dry clay I have never used, but have wanted to.

Over the course of the year and possibly beyond I will use January Treats as a tag.

Thank you for taking the time to read my latest post.

Until next time

Blessings

Friday Haul

So today was my day off and I had to go and do the food shop.  The first stop was to my local Morrison's store and then on to Sainsburys.

I find every time I go to Sainsburys I can never leave with out getting some sort of craft or stationary items.

So this is what I got from Sainsburys...

First item is A5 neon card the pack contains 10 sheets...

Second item is A4 Coloured card this pack also contains 10 sheets

Last item is oh my goodness I love this item A4 glitter card contains 10 sheets... I'm going to use these to finish making Christmas cards..

After Sainsburys I went home, put the shopping away and then I had a little rest.
Before I went back out this time into town.

In town I went to 'The Work's', Whsmiths, Tkmaxx, Poundland and wilkos...

This is what I got and where..

I found these large pink and purple paperclips at Whsmiths.. 99p each pack instead off 3.99

Then I went into 'The Works' and got a few bits and pieces. Actually I should have shares in the company..

After 'The Work's' I went into Tkmaxx I didn't get anythink there, I also went into both the Poundland stores in my town.  I got a few bits that I can't show due to Christmas.

Last stop was wilkos I went to get some gloss paint and while I was there I had a look at the Halloween section I want to get some black cat ears, for if I have to dress up for work. By the way I do not celebrate Halloween...

The only things I got was Dino's and more glitter card!

After wilkos I came home..

Mum's Cupcake Card!

The first week in August, I started to make notes and write down ideas of how I wanted my mum's birthday card to look.  I knew I wanted to make the card slightly different to what I have normally done in the past.

The picture below is how I wanted the card to look.

I also knew I wanted to put some sort of cupcake or rose on the card.  After making up my mind I decided on having a cupcake on the front as I was ordering a rose for my mum (Which you will be able to read about soon).

I set to work, gathering the materials I was going to use.  I already had the card stock and some of the paper I was going to use.  But I just did not have any cupcake items for card making.

So off I went into town, to see what I could find.  To my knowledge there is only about three places in the town, that sells card making stuff.  One of them is 'The Works'  ( which is a book/stationary/craft store ).  I got some new card and paper stock.  They also had some cupcake embellishments, but not really what I was looking for.

So I popped into Wilko's to have a mooch round, while I was in there I found Dovercrafts Tea Party 8"x8" Glitter Decoupage pad.  I hummed and arr about getting the Tea party
pad, I even walked around the store.  Once I made up my mind I went back and pick it up
and went down to the checkout to pay!

Once I got home I had to hide what I had just bought, as my mum was about.  I wait until mum had gone to bed before I could set to work, with making her birthday card.

I got out one of my already folder purple cards and placed it on the table.  I then folder the front of the card in half again, to make it look like this.

Once I had folded the card I then got out my section of girly gift wrap paper.  It took me a little while to work out which paper I was going to use.  I decided to use two of my gift wrap paper's.  First one is pink with a outline flowers and a pink check effect a bit like a table cloth.  The second one as 'mum' write on it - with bear's and flowers.

After I had decided on which paper's I was going to use, I cutted them down to size.  I then got my trust worthy double sided sticky tape out and stuck the bears and flowers paper to the back flap of the card.  I did the same with the pink flower paper, but this time I stuck the paper to the front flap.

Then I got out my Dovercraft Tea Party pad.  I decided to use the single cupcake topper in the pack.  So I pushed out the pieces to the cupcake and then I got out my double sided sticky tape pad's and layed the pieces up, to how I wanted it to look.

Once I had done that, it was time to stick the topper using double-sided sticky tape to the card!

Mum loved the card I made her and also the rose I got her.
