The Humble Poppy (part 3)

I just thought I have not mention about the knitted poppies this year yet and if I was knitting them again..  Well - I started knitting again back in Januray for this years appeal..

My mom never stopped knitting them from last year and the others (there is a group of knitter0 started knitting not long after me..

I made over 200 of the little poppies, my mom on the other hand did 800...
I now feel like there is a challenge on to beat the 800.. LOL!!!

Once again these little guys went on sell at the end of October.. But before we knew it that mine and my mom's poppies had gone and people where asking for more...  All in total we raised for the poppy appeal was £1840 .

Next year is the 100year since the World War 1. So we are planning to do some think slightly different, to the little humble poppy. I will tell you all once we have decided...

Here is the link of part 1 and part 2 of the Humble Poppy

Wedding Anniversary (Art deco)

On the 28th December 2012 a friend of the family asked me did I have any wedding anniversary cards?   At the time I did not have any, but She didn't need the card until the middle of Feb.

So the first week of January I went to the range to re-stock up on some of my craft items!  While I was there I picked up some of the Art Deco stuff for card marking!  I had to wait til I had a day off, which was a few days later.  Before I could start working out and designing the card.

I knew wanted to make one that looked like it was a picture in a old frame and slightly tilted.
You'll know what I mean by the picture below.

Once I made the one above I then decided I wanted to have fun and have a play!
To see what other one I could make, and this is what I made!

The picture below is what I came up with.

I have known about this other 'Diamond style' card for about eight months now!  Just not had a chance to try it out until now!

Last week the friend of the family came round and bought the first one I made!
But I do have some else who is interested in the diamond style one!

Please let me know what you think? as I am on twitter @Dorsetbotanybee

The First Christmas Order 2012

Last December (2011) after I had made and posted all my Christmas cards to everyone...
The feed back from them all was really nice!

Back in February (2012) my Aunt told me how much she and my uncle loved the card I sented them!  She told me how all her friends had commented on lovely the card was!  Then my Aunt went on to ask would I make some Christmas cards for her? She also said she would pay too!

Actually between you and me - I wouldn't of made them for no-think.

Here are the one's I made

I know there is only nine cards in the picture, but I actually made twelve in the end.
