Dementia UK November Knitting Challenge (Part 1)

Hello Everyone - I hope you are all okay and if not I wish you are feeling more yourself soon.

This is a bit of a personal one for me and like a lot you also...

In mid October I kept seeing the ads on social media for the November Knitting Fundraising Challenge with Dementia UK and then I was tagged to the same advert by a friend.

After a long think and finding the right pattern out I decided to signed up to do the fundraiser and knitting challenge with dementia UK.  It's been awhile since I have done any knitting but thought this would be a great way to get back into doing so.

I was going to post this on the 1st of the month but I couldn't find my knitting needles. So I've treated myself to my very own set not the hand me downs that I also have and can not find at the moment.

https://amzn.eu/d/aMMUsPx  I'm not getting any commission from the link you see for the needles.

I'm also waiting for my fundraising pack too. So when I get that I'll post a snap on my social media.

So why you ask...... Well this my personal experience.

My immediate family had to witness an elderly cousin of ours, called Beryl, completely forget who we were. I, myself had the experience first hand more times than the rest. I will never forget that day when our Beryl came into my place of work came to me for help and then I ended up serving her. My cousin Beryl, told me she had no clue who I was and she ended up getting really upset because she couldn't remember who I was. I ended up saying sorry and that I may of mistaken her for someone else. This actually left me quite upset too. My mum later discovered our Beryl had Dementia. Beryl is sadly now no longer with us.

A dear friend of mine (and my family), that has been a major part of my life has Frontotemporal Dementia. Something I had never heard off till she told us years ago. I have so many happy and wonderful memories of her. She has helped shaped who I am today. Recently I've been told she also no longer recognise people she knows. Angel hugs my love...

I'm also doing this for all my friends and the extended family who have or had love ones who have or had this horrid disease.

What am I knitting...

I'm knitting an Knitting By Post Pattern, Raspberry and Moose - I am also not getting any commission when you click on the link

Here is My Just Giving Page, Please if you are able to donate this will be very much  appreciated by Dementia UK and myself. Any donates will help Dementia UK but will also motivated me to complete the pattern.

Why I have been absent

Hello Everyone - I hope you all are well and keeping safe.

I know it has been a long while since I have written or posted anything or has often has I use too.

Why or what has happened, last year I witness a traumatic event when a immediately family member got seriously ill and was took into hospital. I've never been apart for long periods of time from this family member before. I thank God every day that this family member is still with us..

I've been trying to recover from what I had witness. I went thorough what felt like hell at times, these past 13 months and I believe I am nearly past the worse of it.  I have always been a carer for this family member, but since June last year this has gone up a notch or too.

In my darkest hours of this time I re found my faith and I feel more calmer in my life and compete.  I have and I guess I am also still, finding my way and learning the new me. While mourning the old ways of life.

So now you know why I haven't been about much...

Thank you for stopping by and Thank you for you're loyalty if you are a returning follower.

Until next time stay safe.

Blessings

January Treats!

Hello Everyone  - Long time no see, I hope you all had a peaceful holiday and so far new year as been kind to you. I also hope you are well and if not I wish you a speedy recovery.

I have been a wee bit naughty and bought a few new bits and yes I even got two boxes of Hunkydory Christmas Boxes. I'm a sucker for all things Christmas, pictures below are of what was in the two boxes.

Towards the end of 2022 I knew I wanted to do a order of some new essentials, I kept looking and adding to my online basket. At times I wasn't sure if I was going to do a order and, then on the 2nd of January 2023 I decided too. I paid for next day delivery, something I rarely do..

Down below is a list of what I ordered and below that again is the pictures.

1: For the love of stamp - Paw some pups
2: For the love of stamp - Paw fect pups
3: Free gift - Puppy Love
4: StazOn Ink Pad - Jet Black
5: StazOn Ink Pad - Gothic Purple
6: For the love of stamp - cosmic cat
7: A3 cutting mat ( been wanting to upgrade my 12x12 mat for a while now)
8: A3 Silicone Mega craft mat
9: Premier Craft Tools - stamping press and extras (been wanting one for a while now)
10: Woodware stamp - Freddie Fox
11: Woodware stamp  - potted poinsettias
12: Watering can die.

Has you can see above are the essentials, and below is what I would say is not so essential. But I am planning to do mix media, I also fell in love with a few stamps. Plus I wasn't going to say no to the free gift was I. In the past I've missed out and have regretted so.

I also did a small order with The Works, a few Christmas/ New Year gifts and some must haves. The Christmas/New Year gifts I can not share as well I've not sent them yet.  What I can share is the two 8x8 scrapbooks and air dry clay.
The air dry clay I have never used, but have wanted to.

Over the course of the year and possibly beyond I will use January Treats as a tag.

Thank you for taking the time to read my latest post.

Until next time

Second Quarter

Hello All - it has been a while since my last post. I believe that was back in February/March time.

What have I been upto? Well in April I was busy trying to finish the journalling in my December Daily. Also it was my one of my aunts birthday.

By this time I wasn't really in the mood to do any card making. But luckily I have a stash of cards made up already just in case anything like this happens.

My crafting mojo hadn't completely gone. I was and still are enjoying making notebooks. I decided to make one for her in her favourite colours Pink and rose gold, plus she love art deco.
Below is what I made her.

In May I have a few birthdays, the first one is in the first week of the month. I made him a F1 theme card.

The next four I made was for family.  The pink card below is for my another aunt who's birthday is on the 1st of June and the blue one is for her husband my uncle..

The giraffes below was made for my Godmother.

The card below was for a family friend he's more like family.

I honestly can not take the credit for the card base design that is Sam from mixed up crafts..

Thank you for read my post.

Stay safe

Blessing to you all

Being Swamped

Oh no I was meant to post this on the 19th of February, better late than never..

~~~~~~~
I know in the past I have written about how I need to destash. Well I have literally got to the point where I need to destash.
Since last year I have been shopping a lot online (like alot of us) for craft and planner stuff. I have been trying to work out why?
I think I may know why - when I find I'm stressed out or feeling low, depressed. I shop when I'm depressed mainly.
So I have decided to beat this addiction and beat the depression..
How am I doing to do this?
Well I'm going to do and have started. Craft my way through my stash, if I come across anything I don't like or want anymore. I'll recycle it or see if any my crafty friends would like it.
So today is 19th of February 2021 and my last order arrived. It was from hobbycraft and all was in my order was this..
Over the coming weeks I will post how I am getting on.
Please wish me luck.
Until next time, stay Safe
New Sizzix Charity Dies
A few weeks ago I had a email from Sizzix, to say about they have new releases on their website..
I fought with myself to not have a look, and then I got a email about the new charity dies #donatetomake..
Oh my days I could not resist them. I have been also trying to organise a lockdown swap with a group of crafty friends. Another good reason to order them. Right?
So last week I ordered the two special charity dies and on Tuesday they arrived..
Also what comes they them is a Thank you card, I somehow received two of them.
This is what the Thank you card says.
So here in the UK the Sizzix charity dies are £10 each. £6 from the sale of each of the two dies will be spilt equally between two charities and they are, Action Against Hunger and  Trussell Trust . I'm thinking each country may have different charity's. I please don't hold me to it either.
I will be sharing what I do with these dies very soon. Please watch this space.
Did you know you can find me on
I do have YouTube,  but I have closed that for now.
I am back!
Hello Everyone!
So sorry I have not posted anything in the last 12 months.
My ipad died in September of last year 2019 and my phone was slowly packing up also.
I now still do not have a new ipad or laptop... But I do have a new phone, so hopefully I will be posting as and when. I need to get my blogging  mojo back.
