First Quarter

Wow can you believe it is already that time
of the year again - The First Quarter...

January and February was just mainly Birthday's.
Pictures below sorry I couldn't get them to go in order..

Januray - Made this especially for a friends
son who is a Formula One fan.

Januray - These came as a kit with a magazine
I bought a while back. So one afternoon after work
I sat down with a cuppa and made these up!

January - Made especially for my brothers Birthday. Who is also a formula one fan as much as a minion fan!

January -- Made especially for friends daughter, who loves animals.. I thought she might like the girly colours and owls.. Which she did!!

March -- I made this one especially for my Great-Aunt's Birthday.. She makes beautiful patchwork quilts..

February - Found this one out from my stash of my cards I made last year.. I sent this to a friend of my family.

March --  Found this one out also from my stash for a close friend of the family...

March -- Right at the beginning of March was another friend of the family birthday. So in February I made this one especially for him. I used neutral colours and a nature feel to the card. The guy I made this for loves the outdoors....

The card above I made for a penpal in February I was writing too!

Notebook

I'm not sure if I posted any photo's of the Art Deco photobook I had a go at making.  After being inspired by watching a few vids on YouTube.

inside look..

Pretty rubbish I personally think. I nearly put the photobook on the pile for recycling! Then one night I wrote up suddenly with and idea going around in my head!

By the way am I the only crafter/artist that suffer with this? I have to keep a notebook and a pen by my bed.

Anyway. . . . My idea was to upcycle (can I call it that?) and make it into notebook holder thingie. .

This is what I came up with. .

I kepted the front pages, just removed the top and bottom also the inside flaps.

You can also see a close up look on my YouTube channel!

A serious crafting aim!

So about this time last year I wrote about, how I needed to use up what I have craft wise!  Well I am ashamed to say I failed - big time. Instead I added to it. With my Birthday haul from hobbycraft.. Which you can read about , birthday-haul .

Plus a small haul from hobbycraft just before Christmas, which didn't go to plan. My order went missing between hobbycraft and being delivered to me.

So after a few phone calls to hobbycraft, I got my  order resent out!

This is what I ordered!

So the first item is this
' DecoArt - Media - Modeling Paste'. This will be my first time using this, stuff. I do a lot of art/mix media journalling and I have been looking for some new things to try..

The next item I got is the
'Tattered Lace - Eiffel Tower'. I have been eyeing up this up for a while now..

While ordering the 'Eiffel Tower' I saw this lovely die ' D655 Panorama Grass' and thought they might look good together!

Then I saw these cute pockets. I will say I thought these were fabric like what I've seen on YouTube vids from America instead they are
paper. Oh well they will do for now!

I have a little confession to make, there is one other thing I have ordered. That is the Pebble Company - Garden Party 6x6 paper pad!  I will post pictures of the paper pad on Instagram when it comes..

So once again this year coming my aim is to use up as much as I can from papercraft to yarn (knitting)!

Follow my journey throughout the year either on here or on twitter, Instagram, YouTube and facebook..

A Tale Of A Minion And A Giraffe!

I think it is safe for me to put this on here now. Now that my brother and godmother as had their Christmas presents from me!

This is partly the reason why I have not been writing much on here, since about October. Instead I have been busy knitting, sewing and crafting goodies!!

I will start with my Godmother, she loves giraffes and her favourite colours are purple and green..

Before you say yuk - purple and green. If I'm right I believe those two colours are opposite to each other on the colour wheel...

I was looking through a knitting magazine and came across a pattern for a giraffe... I thought I know who I am going to make this for..... Lucky enough I had already had the colours I wanted in my yarn stash....

I tried not to feel attach to the little fella.. But I have to say I love how he turned out..

Actually I should stop called the giraffe a he as my godmother as called her Geraldine.. Yes like Vicar of Dibley.

Next. . . . . my brother...

So you know by now my brother loves and I mean he LOVES Minion's that much so you can read it Here .

Anyway I wanted to make my brother a minion cushion, but more I look for one online the more I realise there just wasn't a pattern... Which at the time I thought oh great how am I going to do this.

Then I decided that it wasn't going to stop me. I design the minion by drawings and ordered the yarn from Deramores . Deramores is an online yarn shop actually anythink you want for knitting to crotchet...

So this is what I made...

Both my Godmother and brother love their gifts!

Birthday Haul

It's been a while since I have wrote a single blog post.

So yesterday was my Birthday, I decided to go to Bournemouth and Poole not been in a while. In the I ended up at hobbycraft in Ferndown, Bournemouth with my mum and brother.

At first my brother was not happy until he saw the Airfix and leho section!  Mum was not to happy as she is in a wheelchair and had trouble getting around the store properly. Due to narrow isles - I guess Christmas is more important than customers..

Apart from that we spent about two hours or more in there, I guess it was because I was like a child in a sweet shop, I spent just over £100.00.

Once we all got home, we decided to have a chinese takeaway.  My 1st sad I know!

Anyway this is what I got my self!

Newbies (part 1)

In the past eighteen months or more I
have bought some new Art'n'craft items. I think it is about time I share.

Warning - This post is going to be a long one. . . You have been warned!

So a year ago my paper cutter that a friend (also another crafter) gave me broke. . .

I first thought I could cope without the paper cutter... How wrong was I?  Seriously,  it is hard going without a paper cutter.

In the end I had to get a new one.  So I looked online at differnet guillotine's and paper cutters.  I read the reviews and in the end I decided to get the ClassicCut CL100 from Agros I paided £49.99 at the time.

I first thought a tad pricey, but I have to say well worth the money...  If you have not click the link above, here is a picture of what the ClassicCut CL100 looks like.

The ClassicCut CL100 has a safety catch/lock on the base, which you need - has the blade is sharp.  Also the blade self sharpens it self too. Has you can see there is a graud and measurements on the base.

So yes a brilliant tool for any papercrafter or office.

Sizzix Big Shot

About two years ago I first saw the Sizzix teal big shot machine. . .

Picture from the side of the box!

You guess right I fell in love straight away,  I decided to wait and see the reviews.  Plus a price drop, I might sound bad. . .  At the time I was not willing to part with £190...

Then about a year ago I signed up to receive Hobbycraft newsletters. The first newsletter I received gave me 15% off my first order. I did not know what I was going to get... Then the next email I received from Hobbycraft had the Sizzix teal big shot starter kit for £79.99.  You guessed right - I could not wait to order this.

So this is what the big shot looks like
Please note I've over used my cutting plates!

Apart from my ClassicCut I know I would be completely lost without my big shot.

I can truly say the Sizzix Big Shot as open the door to a whole new thing!

Gelato's

I know what you are thinking Ice Cream! I first thought that too as well.

.....

I first saw the Faber - Castellan Gelatos on
YennyStorytale and Tassycrafty YouTube channels. These two lady's have seriously inspired me from art journalling, mix media to card making.

So what are these Gelatos I hear you say.  Well the best way I can describe them are. . . . To look at a Gelato they look like a lip gloss at first glance. (But please don't apply to the lips.)  These little guys are like oil pastels and also like paint (when they get wet)

If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook
you may of seen my first attempt with these Gelato's!

I have to say I'm still learning about these guys. I do know they are great for mix-media projects.

Stamps and Dies

Most of my stamp's and Dies set have been freebies from magazine's...

Picture above is not all of the freebies!

Some freebies aren't truly free, these below. I had to pay £1.95 for p&p, so I ordered two packs. I think one of them I will give away!

It's a #fact I'm a sucker for freebies.  I think I've just partly proven it too. . .

Anyway apart from the freebies,

I am hooked on and crazy about what craft items are available in America and Canada...  So when heard about there is a uk site called ' Make The Day Special ' that imports from the America, I was and still am over the moon!

I have become hook lawn fawn! Picture below shows just a few stamps and Dies, I have a lot more!

Also I have Mama Elephant and Paper Smooches. Not a lot at the moment!

I think that's it for now...

Please let me know what you think?

#lovesumerart

During last month (July 16th - 20th) there was an event on YouTube called #lovesumerart.
For artists and crafter's to share their talent, also to be proud of the skills they have.
If they (the artist or crafter) wanted to teach new skills to others via video, they could... It was totally up to each of us what we did!

This event was the brainchild of Cinnamon Cooney. On YouTube Cinnamon channel is TheArtSherpa .

Why am I telling you about this amazing event that happen? Well I took part, of course!

I filmed the video twice. First one the ending did not record and the second one did not even record!

I nearly did not post a vid, then I decided to try again. Try and make it a little different, to the other two videos!

Below is what I did..

I am looking forward to the next event.
